"W" is for Writing Link
UNLV writing links

A Writing Link is a General Education program that simultaneously enrolls students in a first-year composition course (Eng 102) and another course that satisfies a Gen Ed Core requirement (world literature or philosophy).

What Are the Benefits of Writing Links?

  • The instructors in each "link" work together to share readings and assignments, which makes both courses more relevant and interesting.

  • Shared readings and assignments also help reinforce learning in both classes, which could lead to higher grades.

  • Students see the same faces in both classes, which might lead to more friendships and study partners.

“I would really enjoy taking a course like this again. It is nice when the teachers communicate and you are with the same people in two classes.”

See more student feedback about the links.
